Nellie's Bar Jewelry Showing

Not as much people this time as we had in Heney's, more return customers than new ones. I don't think word of mouth has gotten around as much as we thought it had. Wasn't a complete loss we did some sells(haven't added the money as of yet) We have come up with new idea's for the future and I am just going to have to have more home showings. So its back to calling people and seeing if they will commit to having it in their homes.

As far as my work goes as a nurse, I have talked over the situation at work, and she is suppose to be working it out. We will see when I get back on Monday how much was able to be worked out in that length of time. I also get a raise in Jan. 2008, I thought I would go ahead and wait until then instead of demanding it now because it is more than what I was going to ask for and what is a few more months???? So we will see, Of course I didn't get everything I ask for but hopefully conditions will change for the best. I was pretty much last Tuesday at my wits end and was really ready to quit just right on the spot. Talked it out and come up with a plan, she(my boss) even came back that night to try to get some of the problems straighten out.

I got some pics last night I took them with my cell phone and they didn't look like they came out as good as taking with a digital camera. I haven't downloaded them into the computer. So I might put them up or not. Right now I am waiting for the washer repair man to come and take a look at my washer. It is tripping the main electric switch in the house when I turn it on. So hopefully he can fix it and I don;t have to end up having to get another washing machine.

Our first customer, we didn't take any pics of all the people that showed up, it looks rather empty in all the pics. LOL but we had at least 40 people to show up and brought in about 650.00 in sells. Great night. Another party for tonight in Nellie's pub. I will bring my cell phone and take more pics.

This is Louise that modeled our jewelry that night, she is wearing a necklace and earrings we sell. Louise is a daughter of one of our friends and was one of the candidates for Queen of the Galtee's that we have every year at the Bansha festival in August.

Just one of those days

YESTERDAY WAS JUST A BUMMER FOR ME. FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON, I FELT VERY DOWN AND WAS HAVING A PITY PARTY. I JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY MY LIFE WAS PROGRESSING AND THE MORE I THOUGHT ABOUT IT THE WORSE I GOT. PETER REALLY TRIED TO GET ME OUT OF THIS BUT I JUST WOULDN'T HEAR OF ANY CHEER ME UP THINGS. I KNOW I HAVE A LOT OF THINGS GOING AND ITS GOING TO TAKE TIME TO GET THE JEWELRY BUSINESS OFF THE GROUND, EVEN THOUGH IT IS DOING BETTER THAN I HAVE EXPECTED.....

I JUST GOT OFF 2 (12 HOUR SHIFTS) THINGS AT WORK AS A NURSE AREN'T GOING VERY WELL AT ALL. I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. EITHER TALK TO THE MATRON TO GET SOME OF THE THINGS FIXED OR GET ANOTHER JOB. I HATE TO CHANGE JOBS AT THIS TIME BUT I FEEL DREAD WHEN I GO INTO WORK ANYMORE. THAT'S A SIGN FOR ME THAT IT IS TIME TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. I HAVEN'T HAD A RAISE IN 3 YEARS. THE OWNER IS VERY CHEAP AND SHE TRIES TO GET BY WITH A LOT. MAINLY NOT GIVING US A RAISE. I AM GOING TO BE ASKING THINGS FOR MYSELF BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY THEY LIKE IT GO TO THEM INDIVIDUALLY. I HAVE WORKED MY ASS OFF FOR THESE PEOPLE AND ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MORE MONEY. CUT BACKS WHEN WE ARE DOWN ON PATIENTS THEN TAKE OFF TO NEW YORK CITY FOR VACATION. WE ARE ALL SUFFERING AND THEY ARE THE ONES GETTING THE MONEY OFF OUR MISERY, I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND PEOPLE LIKE THEM. OH I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE BUT THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS, THEY ARE CONCERN PEOPLE(TALKING ABOUT HE OWNER AND HER HUSBAND WHEN I SAY PEOPLE OR THEY) BUT WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY THEY LIKE IT TOO MUCH... SO I HAVE TO MAKE A CHANGE AND I HATE TO PUT IT TO THEM THIS WAY BUT IF SOME OF THE CHANGES DON'T HAPPEN I WILL HAVE TO GO FOR ANOTHER JOB.

SO I GUESS WITH ALL THIS BEING ON MY MIND, I GOT INTO A VERY BAD MOOD YESTERDAY AND COULDN'T GET MY HEAD AROUND IT. I HATE BEING PUT IN A CORNER. THAT'S WHAT I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING IN A CORNER WITH A DECISION TO FIGHT. I GUESS I WILL HAVE A TALK WITH HER ON MONDAY IF I CAN GET SOME TIME TO DO IT. I AM GETTING OLDER AND JUST CAN'T DO THE THINGS I USE TO WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. WE HAVE SOME HEAVY PATIENTS AND REALLY NEED MORE PEOPLE TO HELP WITH THESE BIG PEOPLE. WE HAVE LIFTS TO GE THEM OUT OF BED BUT IT GETTING THEM PULLED UP WHILE THEY ARE IN BED. WHEN I DO HAVE SOMEONE WITH ME SOME OF THEM JUST AREN'T GOOD LIFTERS THAT LEAVES ALL THE WORK UP TO ME AND MY BACK CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. SO IF SHE CAN'T GET GOOD LIFTERS SHE NEEDS TO HAVE THREE PEOPLE FOR THE SHIFT I WORK. MY BACK IS STILL NOT RIGHT SINCE I HAVE INJURED IT BACK IN JAN. OF THIS YEAR, IT GOES INTO SPASMS EVERY NOW AND THEN STILL GETS SORE WHEN I HAVE WORKED JUST ONE DAY. I WEAR A BACK SUPPORT(THAT I BOUGHT MYSELF) BUT STILL HAVE SPASMS. THEN WE HAVE TWO MENTAL PATIENTS THAT ARE DRIVING ME MENTAL. LOL AND BELIEVE ME I DON'T HAVE TO FAR TO GO. SO ITS A RAISE AND MORE PEOPLE TO WORK SO WE CAN TAKE CARE OF THE PATIENTS WE HAVE PROPERLY. THAT'S REALLY NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR, BUT FOR PEOPLE THAT LIKE THEIR MONEY I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE A PROBLEM. SO THAT'S THE DILEMMA I AM IN AT THE MOMENT AND IT IS MAKING ME IN A BAD MOOD FOR SOME REASON. I HATE IT WHEN I GET IN THESE MOODS.

PETER WOKE UP DOWN THIS MORNING AND I WAS IN A SOME WHAT BETTER MOOD, SO HE JUST STAYED AWAY FROM ME, SO WE WILL BE ABLE TO TALK ABOUT IT TOMORROW WHICH THAT'S THE WAY IT IS WITH US. WHEN HE WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ME IN A BETTER MOOD HIS MOOD CHANGED, THAT'S THE WAY I AM ALSO, SO WHEN WE BOTH GET OUT OF OUR MOODS THEN WE ARE ABLE TO TALK ABOUT IT. STRANGE BUT WE ARE CONNECTED SO EMOTIONAL TO ONE ANOTHER THAT ONE'S MOOD EFFECT ANOTHER IN A WAY THAT WE GET INTO A BAD MOOD ONCE THE ANOTHER ONE IS IN ONE, IF WE CAN'T GET THE OTHER PERSON OUT OF IT.

I REALLY HAVE TO GET THE PICS FROM MY PARTY AT THE PUB DOWNLOADED. WE HAVE ANOTHER PARTY ARRANGED FOR THIS COMING THURSDAY IN ANOTHER PUB IN THE VILLAGE CALLED NELLIE'S BAR. ITS RIGHT NEXT TO HENEY'S (WHERE WE HAD OUR PARTY LAST WEEK) WE REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE HER OUT, BECAUSE SHE HAS REALLY BEEN VERY NICE TO ME SINCE I HAVE MOVED HERE. MOST OF THE PUBS WERE WE HAVE PARTIES DON'T CHARGE FOR THE ROOMS BECAUSE THEY FIGURE IT WILL BRING BUSINESS TO THE PUB....WELL PARTY ON GARTH.....LOL

Great Night

Well the pub night went very well. The word got around and we had over 40 people to show up. all of then bought stuff. I was very surprised at the turn out. Even had some friends that I haven't seen in about two years to come. Everyone loved the jewelry so we are planning on having another one in the pub in about two weeks time..

We had posters out in town but it was most of the village in Bansha that showed up. I was very impressed. I love to sell jewelry because people are so happy to buy something that makes them feel good and I like being apart of that. This was the first night that Peter was actually part of it up front. Usually he is behind the scene, ordered stock, making up catalog, making jewelry displays. He rather got a buzz off it himself being there tonight and helping out. I will have pics to follow. Some of the people didn't come that we thought would, but that's usually the way it works. We are going to be busy this week restocking and getting ready for out next showing. I am so glad that the business is going so well. We had about 700.00 in sales tonight, for 2 hours work. Not bad at all.

On another note I got a package from my dear mom back in Kentucky she sent me a belated birthday present. Which was a birthstone ring and my sister sent me earrings to match. Plus some other bits and pieces. I called her to thank her for all the stuff. We had a laugh because she had stuck some dental floss in the box she sent me. I told her when I was talking to her and trying to go over the stuff that was in the box, that they sell dental floss here in Ireland... She has false teeth and don't use dental floss so she said she had gotten the floss when they played bingo. Usually she said they bring something from home so people can win so she had won at bingo and that was in some of the stuff she won, she thought that since I had all my normal teeth that she would just send the floss to me...Makes sense since she explained it to me but when I got the box I saw the dental floss in it I just had to laugh. I ask her why didn't they use money in bingo and she told me that would be more like gambling....LOL MY mom you gotta love her.

I think I will call it a night. I think I have had all the excitement I can take for one night. I started reading Stephen King's Gunslinger series. I had read one book along time ago and I am sure once I get to that book I will say I have read that before. LOL But Like I say it's been along time ago and I have forgotten which one it was. I use to read his novels all the time, and when he got hit by a car and was recovering he didn't write very much. I thought I had heard on the news that he had retired, but I think he started writing again. He had finished up the gunslinger series anyway. I have read most of his other books . You either like his work or you don't and I just happen to like his work...I can't even remember the books that I have read throughout the years. I get into these reading moods and I can read a book a night(if stay up all night reading) then I get out of the mood and it might take six months or more before I get in the mood again.
