We went to Dublin this past weekend and have a great time. Well the first part wasn't so great I had to pay 150.00 for a consultation with this neurosurgeon about the acoustic neuroma I have in my ear. wasn't good news or bad news it was just the fact I had to pay out that money for him to talk to me about something I already knew about. I did find out from the hundreds he has treated that I have 30% chance that it won't grow at all 70% that it will grow at a normal rate and I won't have to have anything done for about 12 years now out of those there is a 10% chance it will be a fast growing one..... I get another MRI the last of the year and will be able to tell my growing rate so we are at this wait and see phase and might be for the next 12 years.
Now the fun part we stayed at Peter's aunt house well she has a cottage behind her house that was empty so it had a small little kitchen, bedroom living room and very small bathroom. At first I had booked a bed and breakfast because everyone seem to be going out of town and we didn't have anywhere to stay, unknown to us his aunt was trying to rent the small cottage and thought she had it rented and this guy backed out, so after I had book the b&b I had to cancel the booking because they didn't find out about the guy not going to rent until 2 hours after I had book the b&b....Sounds confusing well it was ....... After we got settled down we went visiting his aunt and cousin and of course his mother which lives right across the road. they are just a fun bunch to be around. From the first time I met them they have treated me like family. Of course went I arrive its always lets slang the yank LOL But think mostly Peter was getting into that this time.... What was up with that???? Anyway Friday night was wine night at his mother's house. I got very drunk, which I don't drink much anymore so I had about a bottle and a half of the good ole grapes and ended up real funny at first, then the last glass started crying in my glass so to speak Peter had to end up around 3am helping me across the street into bed. A good time was had by all. Next day (most of it anyway ) going in slow motion trying to get over the hangover. We did however, went for a drive around the seaside, took a walk on the beach and ordered these most tasty prawns I have ever had. yum yum ...Next day Peter's mom took us out to eat and afterwards we went to grave yard. Yes you heard me right.... Peter had told me that a guy named Phil Lennox was buried in a cemetery near by. He was the lead singer for a group called Thin Lizzy. I don't remember much about the band because they didn't make it too big in the USA, but they were a Ireland band back in the 80-90's. They did have one hit I can remember called The boys are back in town Anyway, he died of a drug over dose about 21 years ago and Peter had told me that people visit the grave and leave all kinds of stuff there like pics jewelry just personal items. Well when we finally found the grave true to form there was all kinds of stuff all over the grave. One women there told us that his mother still visits his grave every day. I got so overwhelmed by the whole experience that I left behind a ring I was wearing at the time. I will post pics of the grave and pics we took around the seaside in Dublin. We are planning on going back to Dublin July 28th because Peter's aunt is turning 70 and her daughter is turning 40 so they have rented out a pub and going to have a big birthday bash.
While there we mixed some business along with our visit, Peter sister and cousin is very interested in selling the jewelry, of course we gave away more than we sold...We wanted to give the pieces that people picked out but his sister insisted on paying for hers because she was buying for gifts so we just charged her what we would pay for them. We got more items in this week along with my order for the two parties that I gave about 2 weeks ago, so tomorrow is delivery day. I am still working night shifts because now nurses are on vacation everything should get back to normal about the second week in July. I will be back to my two 12 hour day shift position.
